Help

Short, because there is not much here yet. Snorfles is still being built, so this page covers the account you can already have and how to reach a person. It will grow as the app does.

Getting started

You can create an account from the home page. There is not much behind it yet — the app that does the logging is still being built — but the account will be there when there is.

Account and sign-in

Sign in with Google, or with an email address and a password. Forgotten passwords are reset from the sign-in page.

A Google account can also have a password — the two are not exclusive, and adding one from the account page means you are not locked out if you lose access to Google.

Changing your email, or closing your account

Both live on the account page. Changing an email address sends a confirmation link to the new one, so the address stays verified.

Closing an account is not reversible, so it asks you to confirm. What goes with it depends on whether anyone else is in your household. A household only you belong to is removed, along with its animals and their records. A household you share stays with the people still in it — your entries remain as that household's record, with your name taken off them.

Using an AI assistant

Snorfles can connect to your own AI assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, or anything else that speaks MCP — so you can keep the log by talking instead of tapping. The assistant reads your animals and writes entries for you; it never gets more than you have, and it only sees the one household you connect it to.

Setting it up. On the account page, under AI assistants, you will find the server URL. In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste that URL, and connect. Snorfles opens in your browser, asks you to sign in if you are not already, and asks which household the assistant may see. Approve, and you are done — the connection is listed on the account page, where you can revoke it any time. Other assistants that take a URL and a bearer token instead can use a token you create by hand on the same page; it is shown once, so copy it then.

What you can do. Ask it anything you would otherwise look up or type in:

  • "Annapurrna is 500 grams today" — logs the weight and tells you the change since last time.
  • "I fed everyone wet and dry at 8 and 6 for the last three days" — one feeding per animal per slot.
  • "Give Pemba her Panacur" — logs a dose against the right medication.
  • "Who hasn't gained this week?" — reads the weights and answers.
  • "Add a note on Tux for the day he went back to the shelter" — works for alumni too.
  • "Actually that was 520, fix it" or "undo that" — corrects or removes the entry it just made.
  • "We picked up two kittens from Cat Rescue today, Pemba and Sherpa" — adds the animals and their stay.
  • "Show me Pemba's photos" or "what does Tux look like?" — lists the gallery, or looks at a photo.
  • "Make me a report link for Annapurrna to send the coordinator" — the same share link the app makes.

Everything it writes shows up in the log marked with your name and the token's name ("via Claude"), and every edit keeps the previous value, the same as an edit from the app. Weights are always stored in grams and temperatures in celsius whatever units you type; set your household's time zone on the account page so "this morning" lands on the right morning. A viewer's token can read but not write. Uploading photos and editing an animal's details or medications stay in the app for now.
