Frequently asked questions
What is Snorfles?
Record-keeping for people who foster animals. Weights, medications, meals, walks, behavior notes and photos for each animal in your care, on one timeline the whole household shares — and a report at the end for the shelter or rescue.
Can I use it yet?
Yes. Create an account and you can start keeping records today in the web app — your animals, the daily log, photos, the coordinator report and the Year in Fostering wrap-up, shared across your household. A phone app is in development and lands this year; when it is ready, the same account and records are already there.
What will it cost?
Nothing is charged today. When something is, it will be for the parts that cost money to run: extra people in a household, video, paperwork scanning, and storage past a generous allowance.
Four things will not be charged for, ever. The number of animals you have — a litter is five kittens and that is not a premium feature. The history of animals you have already fostered. The Year in Fostering look back. And the report you send the coordinator.
Does my shelter or rescue need an account?
No, and that is deliberate. The coordinator receives a report — a PDF or a link — addressed to the organization. There is nothing for them to install, sign up for, or be trained on. Snorfles is for the people fostering; the shelter already has its own software.
I run a shelter or rescue — can we work with Snorfles?
We'd love to talk. If you're looking for a way to help your fosters keep better records — and to get you a clean report at the end of each stay — email us at hello@snorfles.com and we'll set up a time to talk about how your fosters can work with Snorfles.
Can more than one person in my house use it?
Yes. The household is the unit, not the account. Everyone in the family can log against the same animal, and each entry records who made it.
I typed a weight wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes. Any owner or member of the household can edit or delete any entry — not only the person who wrote it — and every change records who made it. Each entry carries a date you choose rather than the moment you happened to type it. Fostering data gets entered fat-thumbed at 2am; being unable to correct it is the single most common complaint about the alternatives.
Cats and dogs only?
No. Species is a field on the animal, and weight is stored precisely enough for a neonatal kitten, so rabbits, guinea pigs and the rest are not an afterthought.
What happens to a record once the animal is adopted?
It stays. Alumni remain in your history, and they appear in the Year in Fostering look back. Taking away the record of an animal somebody fostered is not something Snorfles will do.
How is my data handled?
Your records are yours, and they are not sold or used to train anything. The Privacy page has the detail, and Help covers deleting your account.
