Hi. We've been fostering for over a year in Denver which has been a real joy, but also more paperwork than we had expected. Each animal stay has had something specific to do... whether it was tracking weight, giving medicine, or just some weird thing that happened. We never found a great way to keep notes on each animal... not to mention after about 20 fosters, it's really hard to remember each one.
Every time an animal went back to the shelter to either go back to its owner or be adopted, we'd go hunting for the photos — some on Cam's phone, some on mine — and work back and forth to piece together what had happened while they were with us. After a litter of 5 kittens and their mom, for whom monitoring weight was really important, we decided we really needed a better way to track it all.
So we're building Snorfles because we need it, and we figure other fosters could use it too.
We're in beta
We're just getting started, but you can use it today. Create an account and the web app keeps the whole record: your animals, the daily log of weights, meds, meals and walks, photos, the report for the coordinator, and the Year in Fostering wrap-up — all shared across your household. A phone app is in development and lands this year.
The home page walks through what it does and the FAQ answers the practical questions. Every animal pictured on this site is one of ours.
